North Umpqua River
Nestled deep in the Cascade Mountain Range near Crater Lake, in southern Oregon, the boulder-strewn North Umpqua River provides a whitewater rafting experience unlike any other Orange Torpedo Trips adventure. Filled with more rapids per mile then our other rafting trips, the increased technicality of this boulder strewn river creates an ideal paddle raft trip for just about anyone or a challenging inflatable kayak trip for the experienced Torpedo guest. Between rafting the numerous class II and III rapids on the North Umpqua River, the group still has time to take in the deep evergreen forest of the Cascade Mountains and to look for fish in the crystal-clear water.
The North Umpqua River makes a great single day whitewater rafting trip for anyone camping in the area or visiting nearby Crater Lake. It’s also an easy drive down from Eugene or up from Medford. The scenery is incredible, the whitewater exciting, it’s very arguably the best single day of rafting in the state.
We also offer a 2-day trip so you can more fully explore the incredible North Umpqua River and the hidden treasures surrounding it. This trip can include trips to the local hotsprings, hikes to scenic waterfalls, and afternoons spent lounging in side stream swimming holes. For evening options you can camp, stay in cabins, or stay in a luxury Glamping tent.
