You will fly in on one of the multiple air carriers that serve Boise. You will need to check in at the Salmon Air/McCall Aviation Desk by 3:00 PM the day before your rafting trip starts. (The desk is located next to the baggage claim, ground floor, Main Terminal.) The Salmon Air flight is included in the cost of your trip unless you opt to transport yourself to Salmon. Note from Salmon Air: "We ask that each customer come with no more than one medium- or two small-sized bags that weigh no more than a total of 35 lbs. Large hard-sided luggage will not fit." At the time of your booking we will need to know your flight information into Boise and the weight of each person in your party to make your flight with McCall aviation as smooth as possible.

Other Salmon River Travel Options

If you are in Idaho with your own vehicle you also have the option to meet us in Salmon Idaho and have your vehicle shuttled to meet you at the takeout at Carry Creek. Not using Salmon Air will reduce the cost of your trip, please call 866-479-5061 for details.

Salmon River Rafting Packing List

At the put-in for Main Salmon River rafting trip, your guides will hand out equipment for you to use during the trip. The first item is a dry bag (18"x36"), which is about the size of a medium duffle. This is where all of your personal items for the trip will go, including your sleeping bag (on camping trips), so pack conservatively. These dry bags will be riding in your boat, and when sealed correctly, they will not leak. However, if sealed incorrectly, they may let water in. We strongly suggest that all items of significant value, such as expensive jewelry, be left at home. We will also supply a day bag to store items like cameras for easy access during the day. When packing, consider your susceptibility to sunburn and pack on-the-water clothing to match. Nylon pants can be great on-the-water clothing that help prevent sunburn. For a more detailed packing list please use the "packing list" button at the top of the page.

Gratuities:

Our guides always work to provide the best trip possible for you, your friends and your family. If you feel their service was extraordinary gratuities are appreciated. Tipping is always optional and at your discretion. We have found that it is easiest to give any tip to the OTT head guide at the conclusion of the trip. The Head Guide distributes all gratuity evenly among the crew.
