Rogue River Dinner Rafting Itinerary

The Rogue River dinner rafting trip starts at the Rogue River Center at 210 Merlin Rd, Merlin Oregon. Arrive at our shop around 4:15 PM dressed for the river. As this is a trip in one of our rafts you should planned on being splashed, but not soaked and your dinner attire will be what you wear on the river (shorts and t-shirts are considered appropriate attire on the deck at Morrison’s). At the shop your guide will provide a dry bag for you put anything you may want after or during the trip: camera’s, shirts, jackets, shoes. At the shop you will also fill out the shuttle paperwork and leave your keys so your car can be shuttle to Morrison’s lodge at the end of the trip.

After all the paperwork is taken care of and your guide has outfitted you with a PFD it’s into the van and down to the river. At the boat ramp everyone will load into rafts, generally in groups of 2 or 4 plus a guide depending on group makeup, and you will begin your evening float into the beautiful Hellgate Canyon. Drifting between the ancient canyon walls you quickly understand why people travel to float at the bottom of this unique gorge. As the raft begins to exit the Hellgate your guide will pull over to a beach and set up some tables and chairs for a quick tasting of some local Southern Oregon wine and cheese as we relax riverside taking in the sounds of the canyon wildlife while tasting our local fare.

After a glass of pinot and a tasting of some local blue its back into the raft an onto our two class II rapids of the trip. Plan on being splashed a little and having a fun ride as you float towards the setting sun. Within another hour of beautiful scenery and drifting the group will float through our second canyon and into the pool at Morrison’s Lodge. The anticipation for your forthcoming meal builds as you round the final corner and the manicured grounds leading up to the lodge come into view. When the guide parks the raft on shore you can roam the lawn and head up to the deck overlooking the river where your table for will be waiting. Sit and relax while the deer roam the lawn below you, the sun sets over the river, and you begin a four course meal your palette will not soon forget.

When you are finished dining collect your keys from the lodge office and find your car which was moved to the lodge during your float.
