Guide of the Month December 2010 - Grant Cannon

Grant Cannon has been running the rivers of the Northwest for most of his life. One of our most skilled torpedo guides, Grant is also a talented paddle raft captain, and natural oarsman. When he is not taking people down the Rogue River in the summer he utilizes his forestry degree from Oregon State to work for BLM. Born and raised in Southern Oregon Grant has always called the Rogue River home. Over the years he has guided on rivers as far away as the Salmon in Idaho and the Grand Canyon of the Colorado, but he always returns to his favorite, the Rogue. If you find yourself lucky enough to have Grant as a guide, know that you are in the most capable of hands and sure to have a great trip. “Smiley” as we call him, is always a favorite of both guides and guests and is one of our most requested guides for good reason.
