Klamath River Organization Travel Information

Accomodations

Grants Pass Oregon

We generally find with organized groups it works better for your group to meet us at the river, however each group is unique and sometimes its easier for you to meet us at our shop in Merlin Oregon and either ride down with us, or follow us to Happy Camp. If you are going to be staying in the Merlin Area we recommend the following accomodations.
Redwood Motel in Grants Pass 888-535-8824
Shiloh Inn Grants Pass Oregon 541-479-8391
La Quinta Inn Grants Pass Oregon 541-472-1808

Yreka California

If your group is coming from the South, Sacramento or the Bay Area, and you want to stay in a hotel the night before your trip it is easier to spend the night in Yreka California and the drive into Happy Camp in the morning. While staying in Yreka leaves you with an hour and a half drive in the morning it has many more lodging opportunities than Happy Camp. In Yreka we recommend
Miners Inn/Best Western 530-842-4355

Klamath River Group Camping

If you want to camp in the Happy Camp area the night before or after your trip there are several campgrounds in the Kalmath River corridor. The one we prefere and the one closest to the meeting place in the morning is Curly Jack Campground If your group is looking to camp in the Merlin area because you are planning on meeting us at the Rogue River Center we recommend Indian Mary Campground

Packing

Please see the packing list page for a detailed list of what we recommend you bring on the trip. Please talk to our booking staff about any unique items your group would like to bring down the river.
